Earlier this week, the Rotary Club of Hanover, and Rotary worldwide, lost one of its long time and faithful members, Art Stabler.  Art was 92 years old.  Art passed away this past weekend and will be sorely missed.  Art was a true Rotarian in every sense of the word.  He joined Rotary on 12 November 1964.  He was Hanover’s President in 1973-1974.  He was very active with the Youth Exchange Program and was District’s 7390 Youth Exchange Chairperson for several years.  Art was a World War II veteran.  However, here is what was most impressive about Art…he had 53 years of PERFECT Rotary attendance!  As our District Governor, Una Martone, said; “What a loss for Rotary, but an attendance legacy to which we can all aspire.”  During the last couple of years, Art continually made the dedicated effort to come to Rotary.  Assisted mostly by his daughter, Becky, and at times by his son, Don, Art kept that Rotary sparkle in his eyes.  Our deepest condolences and sympathies go out to the entire Stabler family.  We will keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.

Visitation will be held at the Feiser Funeral Home in New Oxford, Tuesday, Dec 26, 6-8pm.  The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec 27, 11am at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg PA 17325.  Lunch and meet the family will be held afterwards.  The address for the family is:
