Q. What does RYLA stand for? 
A. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
 
Q. Where is RYLA held? 
A. Messiah University, Grantham, PA
 
Q. When is RYLA held? 
A. June 9-13, 2024
 
Q. Is RYLA just for our District? 
A. No, this is a worldwide program
 
Q. How do I become eligible for RYLA?
A. A student must be between their Junior and Senior year of High School and they may not have attended a previous RYLA. We want the students to return to their schools and utilize their new leadership skills.
 
Q. What if the student has a conflict with their schedule? Can they leave RYLA early or for a portion of time? 
A. Students are expected to arrive at RYLA on time and stay through the Family Night Celebration on Thursday evening. Students are not permitted to arrive late or leave early. If a student does not attend the conference, they will be asked to reimburse their sponsoring Club for the registration fee of $550.
 
Q. How much does it cost to send a student to RYLA? 
A. $550 per student. This includes all meals, a T-Shirt, housing and learning materials. Your Sponsoring Rotary Club will pay this fee.
 
Q. Can a student bring his or her own food to RYLA? 
A. No. The food provided is healthy and tastes great! There is a wide variety of foods offered at each meal. Click here to learn more about the meals at Messiah University. 
 
Q. Can students drive themselves? 
A. No. Students must be driven to and from the facility. Any student who drives themselves will be turned away.
 
Q. How much money should students bring? 
A. None. There is nothing to buy and all of your needs are taken care of by your Rotary Club.
 
Q. What should students wear? 
A. They should always dress respectfully during the event. Jeans and t-shirts are ok, so long as you are not exposed. Students should bring nice clothing for the banquet.
 
Q. Can parents come to the Family Night Celebration? 
A. Absolutely. Click here to register for the family night celebration. We love for parents, teachers and friends to come and witness the culmination of the week!
 
Q. Can students bring a cell phone? 
A. Yes! We encourage students to bring cell phones to take photos of the RYLA Experience! However, cell phone use will be limited or not permitted during some events/speakers throughout the RYLA Conference. 
 
Q. How Many students attend RYLA? 
A. Approximately 120.
 
Q. Will I have my own room? 
A. No. There will be 2 to 3 students in each dorm room.
