Shout Out to the Rotary Club of Shippensburg on receiving the Rotary International Presidential Citation for attaining goals in specific activities such as entering goals in Rotary Club Central, showing a gain in membership, inducting new members under the age of 40, achieving certain levels of giving to The Rotary Foundation and MORE during the 2016/17 year.  The Rotary Club of Shippensburg was the ONE and ONLY club in District 7390 to earn this distinction and was presented with an award during the November 15 Foundation Dinner.  I know you all worked hard for this recognition and it is very well deserved.  Congratulations.

Shout Out to the Rotary Club of Harrisburg for their unique fundraising effort ~ auctioning off Past Club President Betty Hungerford’s famous lemon cake.  These two cakes raised a quick $600.  Coupled with auctioning a house party, an art class from the Art Association of Harrisburg, tickets to Elegant Progressions dinner from the Historic Harrisburg Association, the Rotary Club of Harrisburg raised a couple thousand dollars to supplement their scholarship awards.

Shout Out to the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg for their support of the Mechanicsburg Area Meals on Wheels.  Pictured here is President Amy Bockis with Karen Stine, Executive Director Meals on Wheels.  The Rotary Club provided a brand new meat slicer (with help from a District Grant)  valued at $5,400.  In addition the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg provided a $400 check to help support the work of the non profit organization.  Not bad for a 28 member club!

Shout Out to the Rotary Club of Harrisburg Keystone for hosting a dynamic Rotary Means Business event which garnered the participation of nearly 50 attendees, many of whom are NOT current Rotarians and are NOW interested in joining.  The Rotary Club of Harrisburg Keystone was able to secure a sponsor for the event, Appalachian Brewing Company, as well as a media sponsor, the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal.  Well done and for any of you Facebookers and LinkedIn users out there, don’t forget to give the Rotary Means Business 7390 pages a like!
