RYLA - About the Conference
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is held every year in mid-June. The 2018 Conference will be the 58th Consecutive RYLA in Rotary District 7390. Approximately 140 High School Juniors attend annually.
RYLA provides leadership training for outstanding young men and women from public and non-public secondary schools in Rotary District 7390 from the counties of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York Counties. The schedule includes various speakers, career seminars, a challenge course, team building activities, a conference band and chorus and much, much more.
Registration is Sunday, June 10, 2018 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Conference will conclude on Thursday, June 14, 2018 with the RYLA Family Night Celebration.
RYLA is held at Messiah College, One College Avenue, Grantham, PA 17027. Click here for more information about Messiah College.
The students will sleep in the dorm rooms of the Miller and Grantham Residence Halls. All boys will be in Miller and girls will be in Grantham. The counselors will be on the same floors as the students and there will also be an adult Rotarian in each residence hall. All rooms will have 2 to 3 students based on the rooms layout.
It is important that student participants in RYLA will truly benefit from the experience and will be leaders on their return to school. Student participants should be between their Junior & Senior year of High School. Participants may NOT have attended a previous RYLA.
Selection for participation in the Rotary Youth Leaders Conference entails responsibilities that conferees should not take lightly. Accordingly conferees will be expected to conduct themselves in a manner in which their families, school and sponsoring Rotary Club can be proud. Failure to comply with any of the rules could result in dismissal from the Conference!
