When will the Group Vocational Service Exchange be held?
Our 2017 GVSE exchange will be with D3460 in Taiwan. Our Outbound Team will arrive in Taiwan on March 18th and return to the U.S. on April 15th; since this is earlier than usual we will be starting the recruitment process for Team Leader and Team Members shortly. Stay tuned for upcoming information. The Inbound Team will be in our District April 22nd to May 20th.

The team will consist of one Team Leader, who will be a Rotarian from District 7390, and four Members who will not be Rotarians. The Team Leader and Team Members MUST ALL have a passport that is valid through July 2017.

Why participate in a Group Vocational Service Exchange?
A Group Vocational Service Exchange offers the most unique and rewarding skill-building opportunity and personal growth experience available to young professionals as humanity steps forward to face the challenges of the 21st century. Individuals who participate will return home, not only with new perspectives and an enlarged vision, but also with valuable fresh ideas and an understanding of a nation’s culture, commerce and government.

During the rigorous travel, team members will experience spectacular and unique cultural tours, along with individualized vocational visits. Vocational visits include opportunities to observe, to share your thoughts, and to learn new best practices with peer professionals from the visited country. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The Rotary District and local Rotary clubs cover the costs of transportation, lodging with local Rotarian host families, meals, and group travel. Each team member must have a valid US passport (and VISA) and is responsible for their individual personal and incidental costs. Team members are required to participate in orientation sessions prior to their departure and will be expected to speak about their experience to various groups after returning.
