District Simplified Grants
District 7390 encourages all Clubs to submit requests for District Simplified Grants for the current Rotary year. These funds, received by all Districts from The Rotary Foundation, are intended to support short-term, humanitarian projects that benefit local or foreign communities.
You are encouraged to be creative and select projects that meet the special needs of your community. Some of the projects done in the past by District Clubs are: refurbished playgrounds, built bus shelters, purchased books for literacy projects, purchased and installed town clocks and benches; supported youth development projects; beautified a community entrance; assisted with a family health festival and collected and purchased food for a food bank, dental care in Honduras, and water projects in Haiti.
The District Grants Committee will review each grant application for the appropriateness of the project based on Rotary International's humanitarian guidelines. Upon approval,Clubs will be matched on a dollar for dollar basis up to $1,500. Based on the amount of funds available and the number of grant requests, it is recommended that applications be submitted as soon as possible in the Rotary year 2010-2011.
Matching Grants (click for information and forms)
Did you know our District is heavily involved in matching grants? And, did you know we would like to be even more involved in matching grants? Our goal is to get all Clubs participating in grants: either as an international partner with a Rotary Club outside the U.S. or by partnering with another Club here in our District. For those Clubs who have never been involved in a matching grant, we want to help you get started! For all questions pertaining to matching grants, contact John Judson, Chair, District Grants Committee.
District 7390 encourages all Clubs to submit requests for Matching Grants for the current Rotary year. These projects promote peace and understanding and of course assist in spreading the work of Rotary all around the world. Frequently, these are World Community Service (WCS) projects.
